To Hull and Back | Favorite things to do in this fun beach town!

Situated on a long peninsula that juts out into Massachusetts Bay, Hull is a picturesque coastal town with a rich history and a thriving community, offering stunning Nantasket Beach, the Paragon Carousel (one of our favorite things to do!), seafood restaurants and a thriving arts and culture scene.

One of the main attractions of Hull is its beautiful coastline. Nantasket Beach is a popular destination for sunbathing, swimming, and beachcombing. With its soft sand, warm water, and breathtaking views, it’s no wonder that Nantasket Beach has been a popular summer destination for generations.

Paragon Carousel – Favorite Thing to do with Kids!

Another popular destination in Hull is the Paragon Carousel, an antique carousel that has been a fixture in the town for over 100 years. The carousel, which features horses and other creatures that have been carefully restored to their original splendor, is a must-visit for families and visitors of all ages.

Rent a Kayak

Nantasket Kayaks is open from Memorial Day through Columbus Day. Rent a kayak or a paddle board and explore the Weir River Estuary or venture out to World’s End in sheltered no-wake waters. Dogs are welcome, but bring your own doggie life jacket!

Rent a Bike

Check out Nantasket Beach Bikes to rent a beach cruiser. Their website is a little confusing, so scroll down to the bottom to see the pricing on renting bikes. They also have bike trailers for the kiddos, as well as surfboards, paddle boards and more.

The Art Scene

Check out the Hull Artists Association at Gallery Nantasket. This thriving regional art association gallery showcases the work of 25 artists and offers an ever-changing exhibit of paintings, watercolors, mixed media, stained glass, photography, fiber art, jewelry, ceramics, fused glass items, woven shawls & totes, floral calendars & cards, knitted items, dyed socks, feather clocks, wood sculptures, paper quilling, pottery, and more!

Hull Lifesaving Museum

The town of Hull is also known for its rich maritime history. Visitors can explore this aspect of the town’s heritage by visiting the Hull Lifesaving Museum. The museum, located in a historic building on the town’s main street, tells the story of the brave men and women who have served as lifeguards and lifesavers in Hull and along the South Shore. The museum features a wide range of exhibits and artifacts, including vintage lifeboat equipment, photographs, and other memorabilia.

Fort Revere Park

For those who love the great outdoors, Hull is home to Fort Revere Park which offers miles of hiking trails, scenic picnic areas, and scenic views of the coast

The Food Scene

In addition to its many attractions, Hull is also known for its thriving local food scene. The town is home to a number of restaurants, cafes, and bakeries, many of which offer fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a menu that reflects the town’s rich maritime heritage.

Mezzo Mare is a great place for Italian and seafood dishes. Sit at the bar and order a few appetizers, they’re big enough to fill you up.

LOCAL 02045

Local 02045 is a seasonal restaurant is located on Safe Harbor Sunset Bay. They feature signature cocktails, craft beer, classic New England fare and a spectacular view. With 2 oceanfront decks and an inside dining and function room, there is plenty of room to enjoy the view. Boaters take note: Safe Harbor features 80 transient dock spaces!

Jo’s Nautical Bar

Located right at the tip of Hull, Jo’s Nautical is a local hangout. The atmosphere is friendly, the drinks are great! They don’t serve food, but you can order a pizza to be delivered.

The bar is in the cellar of the building and has an amazing patio space right on the water. They often have live music and karaoke, and their Bloody Mary’s are legendary!

Hull is a hidden gem on the South Shore of Massachusetts! With its rich history, stunning scenery, and thriving arts and culture scene, it offers something for everyone. Whether you’re a local resident or just visiting, you’re sure to find something to do in this coastal town.
